General Information

We are made for community.

I've heard countless stories from people in our church about how small groups have helped them personally, spiritually to change their lives, heal their lives, keep them on track, etc. It is such a growing and life-giving place for many of us. Jesus, God and the Holy Spirit are all in relationship with us and each other and we are blessed to be able to participate in God's plans through the relationship we have with Jesus.

What is a small group? Small Groups are smaller communities made up of 8-12 people who meet weekly (or bi-weekly) in someone's home to study, share, and support one another in their Christian lives. Each group is led by a trained leader or a leader-in-training. A normal meeting lasts for an hour and a half.

When do Small Groups begin and how long do they last? There is traditionally an open enrollment period during the first two Sundays of September. However, we will welcome new comers into our groups at any time. Simply contact the church office and let them know of your interest. Our Small Groups meet from September through May. (Some groups continue their meetings through the summer as well.) They meet on various nights of the week in people's homes.

What is the required commitment? Joining a Small Group requires a commitment to attend the weekly (or bi-weekly) meetings and a willingness to do the homework ahead of time. Obviously, allowances are made for sickness, vacation, work conflicts, and other special events…but not much more. Commitment is the key to strong Home Bible Fellowship groups.

Is Childcare provided? We leave it up to each group to work out their own childcare. Sometimes it works best for families to share a sitter or swap childcare with another family whose Small Group meets on a different day.
